Star Prairie is getting ready for the annual Ox Cart Days Aug. 18-21.
The event, held mostly at the Star Prairie Ball Park, features several family-friendly events and nightly entertainment.
The event began Thursday, Aug. 18, with a Party in the Park – a dinner and music event to support the local ambulance service.
The party was sponsored by the New Richmond Area Ambulance Service and Star Prairie Lions Club and featured a dinner of chicken, beans, corn on the cob, roll, brats, hot dogs, pop, water and beer. A performance by Trigger Happy began at 6 p.m.
The celebration will continue Friday, Aug. 19, when the fast pitch softball tournament begins.
Although it’s not affiliated with Ox Cart Days, Bethany Lutheran Church, 415 Bridge Ave., will host a non-alcoholic Fun-Together on Friday, Aug. 19. The event will be held from 6-10 p.m. and will feature food, kid’s activities and the band Retro Phonic.
