This summer 24 teens and six adult chaperones traveled to Hurricane, W.Va. for a Group Workcamp home repair youth mission trip.

They were sponsored by Immaculate Conception Church in New Richmond and worked with almost 400 teens and adults from all over the country.

Group Workcamp is a non-denominational Christian foundation that sponsors small home repair missions in communities throughout the United States and Canada, and fosters the growth of the Christian faith in our youth.

The teens grew in their faith while learning that there is something very powerful about serving others in need while also learning valuable skills doing home repair: basic carpentry, roof repair, painting and drywall. They helped many elderly and disadvantaged families fix sagging porches, rebuild unsafe steps and wheelchair ramps, paint houses that would otherwise continue to go neglected and replace old leaking roofs.
