Horse project members fare well at state event

4-H’ers from all over the state grades sixth and up attended the two-day event at the Wisconsin State Fairgrounds in West Allis.
Participants race against the timer in seven gymkhana classes. This is a fun and challenging show of speed events and games for 4-H members from across Wisconsin.
Amanda Richter from New Richmond received three Grand Champions and three Top 10 awards.
Hannah Gullixson of Woodville earned a Reserved Grand Champion and five Top 10 awards.
“The girls represented St. Croix County well,” said Deland Richter, president of the St. Croix County Youth Horse Project. “Not only were they competitive and had great runs, but they demonstrated good sportsmanship and good horsemanship throughout the weekend both in and out of the arena.”
