EDITORIAL: Now it’s up to you
The Vitality Initiative has officially begun.
The Vitality Initiative has officially begun.
A year-long effort within the boundaries of the New Richmond School District, the initiative urges local residents to become a little bit (or a lot) more healthy over the course of the next 12 months.
A volunteer, grassroots organization has been meeting for more than a year and a half to help guide the local effort. The group hopes to better promote events and programs that are already offered in the community to help people eat better, exercise and connect. The group also hopes to organize new programs, like weekly walking clubs, to get people involved in the Vitality Initiative.
The group’s new website will go live sometime in the next week. If you want to find out more about the initiative, take a look at www.nrvitality.com.
Or you can check out the New Richmond News website, which has a “Vitality Initiative” tab where stories about health and wellness topics will be posted throughout the coming year.
Now that the community effort is underway, it’s up to you to get involved. Pledge to take part in a new activity, or pledge to eat better on a regular basis.
If each of us does our part, New Richmond can become one of the healthiest places in the region or even in all of Wisconsin.
