Veterans Day celebration event planned at NRMS

On Thursday, Nov. 10, at 8 a.m., New Richmond Middle School will host its annual Veterans Day program and exhibit in the new building.

The local community, especially veterans, is invited to attend and be honored by the NRMS students and staff. For weeks students and staff have been developing posters and building exhibits to display for the community as well as veterans.

After the program, everyone is invited to stay and walk through the war rooms and enjoy the incredible displays in our museums. The rooms range from The Civil War to present day. In these rooms, speakers will be telling stories of their travels and service to the eighth grade students.

A new room was added this year: “The Spouses of Veterans.” In this room, spouses will talk about their lives as their loved ones went abroad and then returned home. Outside we will have military machinery, among then a chopper from Vietnam.
