McKenzie Kelly leads local runners in 2011 WIAC Cross Country meet
New Richmond grad McKenzie Kelly placed 13th in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) women’s cross country championships, held Saturday in Colfax.
New Richmond grad McKenzie Kelly placed 13th in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) women’s cross country championships, held Saturday in Colfax.
Kelly, a junior at UW-Oshkosh, earned second team All-WIAC honors with her 13th place finish.
Monica Emerson, a freshman from Somerset, helped the UW-Eau Claire women win their fifth straight WIAC title on Saturday. Emerson placed 21st overall in her first college conference meet.
Hannah Utzman of New Richmond ran for UW-La Crosse in the WIAC meet on Saturday. Utzman placed 41st, helping the La Crosse women place third in the meet.
St. Croix Central graduate Derrek Pedersen ran for UW-River Falls in the men’s WIAC meet. Pedersen placed 98th in the meet.
Several other area runners made a big impact in Saturday’s WIAC races. Osceola native Katie Rydeen finished third overall in the women’s race, running for UW-River Falls. River Falls native Lucy Ramquist was the 11th place runner as a member of the UW-Eau Claire women.
