Thefts reported from unlocked vehicles
St. Croix County Sheriff John Shilts reported that there have been numerous reports of items being stolen from parked vehicles. He said the reports have come mostly from Hudson, Star Prairie and Hammond.
St. Croix County Sheriff John Shilts said Thursday that there have been numerous reports of items being stolen from parked vehicles. He said the reports have come mostly from Hudson, Star Prairie and Hammond.
He said in all cases, the vehicles have been unlocked. Most thefts have occurred while the vehicles were parked in driveways of residences in the overnight hours.
Shilts recommended that all citizens lock the doors of their vehicles while parked in the driveway, or move the vehicles inside and lock the garage doors.
Anyone with information regarding the thefts is encouraged to call the sheriff’s office at 715 381-4320. If a citizen sees suspicious activity they should call 911.
