If anyone feels the need for a boost to get into the holiday spirit, there are plenty of places in Somerset you can go.

Santa will be at the Somerset Ice Arena on Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 6-8 p.m. Bring a non-perishable food item and your camera to get a picture with Santa. There will be free open skating; skate rentals available at the arena or Treadmill Sports. There will also be a spaghetti dinner available for purchase. This event is sponsored by the Somerset Chamber of Commerce and the Somerset Youth Hockey Association.

The Somerset Library will host “Storyhour with Santa” on Tuesday, Dec. 20, from 11-11:30 a.m. Parents are encouraged to bring cameras to get photos with Santa. There will also be cookies for the children to decorate.

St. Anne’s School will stage their annual Christmas program on Monday, Dec. 19, at 6 p.m. in their school gymnasium. All the grades participate in performing skits, playing instruments and singing songs.

Are you debating about getting a Kindle or Nook for a present? Rick Lang, former principal of the Somerset Middle School, will be hosting two presentations demonstrating the merits of each on Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 1-2 p.m. and again on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 9-10 a.m. The library will also have the Amazon Kindle, Kindle Fire, Nook and the Color Nook available for people look over.

The Somerset Senior Center will have their annual Christmas party on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 11:30 a.m. The Little Falls Musicmakers will be on hand to provide music.
