Hammond woman sentenced to jail time

A Hammond woman was sentenced to six months in jail after driving drunk and injuring two men in a head-on crash near Bluff Siding, Wis. in September.
Shyla M. Moyer, 32, of Hammond, was sentenced in Buffalo County Circuit Court after pleading no contest to a felony charge of causing injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle.
Moyer was also sentenced to three years of probation and Judge James Duvall revoked her driver’s license for two years. She must also pay $5,553 in restitution.
On Sept. 17 around 2:17 a.m., Moyer was driving northbound on Wisconsin Highway 35 near the intersection of the interstate bridge when she crossed the centerline and collided with an oncoming car carrying two Winona men, according to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Department.
