New Richmond’s outdoor skating rinks slated to open Dec. 26
The City of New Richmond is marking the start of the winter season by opening local skating rinks.

The following outdoor skating rinks will be available soon for use in New Richmond:
* Starr Elementary, South Knowles and County Road GG. A leisure rink with warming house and sledding hill.
* Sports Center, East Fourth Street and Oak Avenue. Outdoor hockey rink open to public at these assigned times: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The Starr Elementary warming house will open Monday, Dec. 26, for the season. The warming house may close due to bad weather, poor rink conditions or the last hour of the scheduled time if there are no skaters. Make sure the warming house is open before dropping off your child. Also remember that children under nine years of age must be supervised.
Warming house hours for Starr Elementary are as follows:
Dec. 26-30, 1-9 p.m.; Dec. 31, 1-5 p.m.; Jan. 1 through end of season, Monday-Friday, 4-9 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 1-9 p.m.
Leisure rink – The Starr Elementary rink is for skating only, hard pucks and hockey play are only allowed at the Sport Center Rink.
Do you have a used pair of ice skates that you would like to donate? Used skates can be dropped off at the warming house during open hours, park and recreation building or the City office.
New Richmond Golf Club Cross Country Ski Trail:
Located a half mile west of New Richmond at 1226 180th Ave. The trail is about three miles long and kept groomed, snow conditions permitting. Trail head starts at the golf club parking lot. The trail is not groomed at this time.
