Folk duo slated to perform at Old Gem
The Old Gem Theater will host husband and wife folk duo, Curtis and Loretta for a special 35th Anniversary Valentine’s Concert at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10.
The Old Gem Theater will host husband and wife folk duo, Curtis and Loretta for a special 35th Anniversary Valentine’s Concert at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10.
Named City Pages’ “Best Acoustic Performers of the Twin Cities,” Curtis & Loretta’s music comes straight from the heart. They play original songs and traditional pieces from the British Isles and America on a wide array of instruments including: Celtic harp, mandocello, mandolin, guitars, clawhammer banjo and National steel ukulele, plus a bit of kazoo, harmonica, and shakers.
Curtis and Loretta have shared billings with Jez Lowe, Vassar Clements, Pete Seeger, Arlo Guthrie, Anne Hills, Greg Brown, Holly Near and Bill Staines.
The concert at the Old Gem marks Curtis and Loretta’s 35th anniversary of playing music together and their 25th wedding anniversary. It will be a special evening of love songs as well as sweet and funny stories. All tickets are $15.
