Three men have been charged with felonies following a combined forces drug bust on a rural Hammond residence that uncovered $20,000 worth of marijuana.
Casey Hoyt Callender, 24, Ryan Scott Peterstuen, 23, and John Robert Jenkinson II, 25, appeared in St. Croix Circuit Court Feb. 7 on multiple felony charges including possession of THC with intent to deliver, possession of psilocybin mushrooms and maintaining a drug trafficking place. Each was ordered to post $5,000 cash bonds.
Sheriff John Shilts said at 4 p.m. Feb. 4, a dozen law officers form the St. Croix Valley Drug Task Force, West Central Drug Task Force and Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation conducted a search warrant procedure at 1893 90th Ave., in the Town of Hammond.
The search uncovered nearly four pounds of marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, an unknown white powdery substance and $14,000 in cash, the sheriff said. He estimated the street value of the marijuana alone at $20,000.
Three investigators and three deputies from St. Croix County were among the members of the task force operation.
Court records said the investigation started with the report of a package seized by Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport police in June that was mailed from Colorado and contained 1.2 pounds of marijuana.
