LETTER: Knops’ letters lack the facts

To the Editor:
For the last few months I have been reading Mr. Knops’ letters to the editor, and I feel it’s time to address his misgivings and untruths on what happened during the Madison rallies.
I was there on several occasions with my daughter and granddaughters, and the conduct I saw was very disciplined. I saw no one chained to railings or damage to the inside or the outside of the Capital. With the number of Police Officers that had been walking the grounds it was impossible to do any damage.
There were a large number of trash barrels around that were being used, and the grounds were cleaned each night. I did not hear any foul language, the majority of the people at the rally were families with small children in strollers and teenagers. Unlike the Tea Baggers’ rallies I did not see anyone walking around with AK47’s or side arms.
While collecting signatures in Hudson and New Richmond to recall Walker, I heard more foul language and hand gestures from Walker supporters.
One thing I do agree with, is the influence outside people and corporations are putting on Wisconsin politics. I do agree that a law should be passed against it and the people involved should be arrested.
People like the Koch Bros., Karl Rove and the Supper Pac’s.
Maybe before taking everything Fox News says as gospel you should do a little fact checking first.
