Fatal accident occurs near Cameron
One woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash near Cameron, Wis. on Wednesday, Feb. 29.
One woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash near Cameron, Wis. on Wednesday, Feb. 29.
The State Patrol was dispatched to the scene of the accident at about 6 p.m. on U.S. Highway 8 and the intersection with 20th Street South. in Barron County.
A 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue GL and a 2000 GMC Safari were involved in the crash. Kelly J. Kolenda, 24, of Chetek was transported to Barron Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the second vehicle, John W. Henderson, 19, of Cameron sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Barron Memorial Hospital as well.
The accident is still under investigation.
Other agencies assisting at the scene were the Barron County Sheriff's Department, Cameron Police Department and Cameron Fire Department.
