After graduating from New Richmond High School in 1977, Colleen went on to study music at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn., and the University of Wisconsin at Madison. From there she moved to Chicago to pursue a career in opera. In 1992 she was hired as a full-time mezzo soprano for the Lyric Opera of Chicago chorus. Since then she has appeared in more than 160 productions and continues to work there today.

Throughout her career in opera, Colleen has kept an interest in Celtic music. Her demanding schedule at the Opera House has made it difficult to put together different programs during the performance season. The combination of a lighter season and the luck of the calendar made it possible to put together the Irish program to be performed on Friday, March 16.

Tickets for the concert are $12 and can be purchased at the door or can be purchased ahead by calling Pat Casey at 715-246-5176.
