The New Richmond Forensics Team placed fifth out of 14 schools at their own Invitational Forensics Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 25.

Twenty-seven New Richmond Forensics students competed in 15 different categories. They are coached by Danette Tellijohn and Sarah Fastelin. The International Club, under the direction of Amy Almendinger, sold concessions to help with their trip to Ireland this summer.

“It was a pleasure to “show off” our beautiful school,” said Tellijohn. “Many, many positive comments from students, coaches and judges on the beautiful facility, the spaciousness, cleanliness and how smoothly everything progressed. The students from area schools were especially impressed with the New Richmond Tiger logo on our bottled water!”

Tellijohn said a special thanks should be given to the janitors, Steve and Jacob, who went above and beyond their duties. Also, New Richmond students helped direct others to their rooms.

Twenty-nine New Richmond students have qualified for sub-district competition to be held at Hudson High School on Tuesday, March 6.
