One of the Twin Cities’ favorite bluegrass bands, Long Time Gone, performs at the Old Gem Theater on Friday, March 16, at 8 p.m.
“We’ve been celebrating our 10th season this year with some phenomenal nights of music and comedy. The bluegrass concerts we’ve hosted have been extremely well received and we expect this one will be just as much fun. The beautiful acoustics of the theater enhance the rich warm sounds of the music,” said Old Gem Director Kathy Welch.
The talented members of Long Time Gone create a style and camaraderie all their own.
Minnesota Rock/Country Hall of Fame member Barry St. Mane is one the most well-known five-string banjo players in the area.
Originally from Wales, Ben Manning plays the guitar, occasionally picks up the mandolin and brings some fine lead vocals to the band’s repertoire.
Lead vocalist, Leo Rosenstein, has been involved with bluegrass music for more than 30 years.
Singer songwriter Katryn Conlin plays string bass and helps out in the rhythm section and in the department of harmony vocals.
Minnesota Rock/Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Mike Hildebrandt plays fiddle and adds some trio harmonies.
The concert promises to be a great kick-off to St. Patrick’s day weekend. All tickets are $15.
