LETTER: Candidate does his homework

To the Editor:

I am writing this letter asking citizens in District 14 (Town of Richmond) to vote for Jeff Dionisopoulos on April 3 for St. Croix County Board supervisor.

I find it encouraging when a working man with a young family takes an interest in his community and is willing to take time to invest in his local government. It is the kind of dedication, energy and enthusiasm that will serve the residents well in District 14.

Even though Jeff has a young family, his foresight and passion for the St. Croix Health Center tells me he’s not just concerned about taking care of his own generation — but he is watching out for the well-being of the previous generation, especially those who are needy.

I gave Jeff a tour of the St. Croix Health Center, as well as the Health and Human Services Department. He got to talk to staff and hear for himself what they do and the issues they face on a daily basis. He was overwhelmed with all that we do on the New Richmond campus.

I admire Jeff’s initiative that, as a candidate for county board, he would take the time to actually come to our facility and get the information for himself first-hand. I wish more of our county board candidates would do that — it speaks highly of Jeff’s character to get accurate, first-hand information before making judgments!
