The Vitality Initiative is ramping up for its second health and wellness challenge of 2012.
“Refresh, Replenish and Revitalize” is being offered by JA Counter of New Richmond to businesses and their employees in the area.
The challenge, which officially kicks off April 1, focuses on people’s water intake for the first four weeks. Your body is made up of 60 percent water, and 70 percent or your brain is water. Are you keeping your’s properly hydrated? Most people don’t.
During the second four weeks of the challenge, employees will be asked to track their fruits and vegetables intake. Individuals are encouraged to eat more than eight servings of fruits or vegetables each day. It’s a goal many people have trouble achieving.
The project wraps up with a four-week meditation challenge. Reducing stress and scheduling in down time has been shown to work wonders on a person’s wellness.
“This challenge was designed and packaged for employers to implement with their employees and do what they want with the tools we put together,” said Lori Gebhard, sales assistant with JA Counter.
Gebhard said the participating employers will be encouraged to offer their employees with incentive awards to promote participation in the three health and wellness areas.
“The focus is to increase water, fruit and veggie intake and learn some simple mediation techniques to help with stress reduction and focus which in turn promotes wellness,” she said.
“Refresh, Replenish and Revitalize.” will run from April 1 through June 30.
