The New Richmond Fire & Rescue Department recently held its annual awards program.
At this year’s event, four firefighters were recognized for their outstanding accomplishments to the department and community. The Fire and Rescue Service provides fire protection, education, prevention, suppression, extrication and rescue operations for the City of New Richmond, Village of Star Prairie, and the towns of Richmond, Star Prairie, Stanton, Erin Prairie and Alden.
“The firefighters receiving awards this year have given a good share of their lives in training and answering the call for help,” said Fire Chief Jim VanderWyst. “We have dedicated firefighters that take the job seriously thus we need to let them know through recognizing their years of service.”
Mayor Fred Horne was on-hand at this year’s event to present the awards and thanked the entire department members on behalf of all the municipalities that the Fire and Rescue Department provides service to.
