UPDATE: Tuesday crash victim identified

A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday just south of Dresser when his vehicle crossed the center line on Highway 35 and struck an oncoming truck.

A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday just south of Dresser when his vehicle crossed the center line on Highway 35 and struck an oncoming truck.

According to a release from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened in Osceola Township, in the 900 block of Highway 35. The victim, Ryan Lorentz, 26, of Osceola, did not have a valid driver’s license or a motorcycle endorsement. He was also not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Ray Richardson, 78, of White Bear Lake, Minn. was driving the pickup truck. There is no information about Richardson's condition.

Also on scene were the Dresser and Osceola police departments, the Dresser-Osceola-Garfield Fire Department, the Osceola Ambulance Service, The Wisconsin State Patrol and the Polk County Highway Department.

This is the second fatal crash in the Dresser area in two days. The crash remains under investigation by the Polk county Sheriff’s Office.
