New Richmond firefighters battle grass fires
The New Richmond Fire and Rescue Department along with other area emergency crews battled several grass fires throughout Wednesday, April 4.

This grass fire, on State of Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources land off 207th Avenue in Cylon Township, was burning strong at around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The New Richmond Fire and Rescue Department along with other area emergency crews battled several grass fires throughout Wednesday, April 4.
Due to dry conditions and wind, a couple of the grass fires quickly grew. Several approached some homes and structures. Several calls for help came in the morning and others were dispatched in the afternoon.
An officials with the fire department urged local residents to avoid burning right now as conditions are very dry and fires could quickly get out of control.
