The St. Croix Central students chosen to attend the World Affairs seminar are Emily Hoyer and Ryan Wenberg.

The World Affairs Seminar is a personalized educational program for selected high school students to learn about the customs, traditions, aspirations and heritage of people from around the globe through association with young people from foreign countries.

The World Affairs Seminar is to bring about a better understanding of world problems through a study of current issues. The World Affairs Seminar also provides the opportunity to discuss those issues with young people from many countries. Emphasis will be placed upon promoting a better understanding of world conflicts and the belief that if the cause is understood, world problems are more likely to be solved peacefully.

The Roberts Lions Club and Hammond Lions Club pay for the cost of sending the two students to the World Affairs Seminar at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

This year’s Roberts participant is Emily Hoyer. Hoyer is the daughter of Gary and Grace Hoyer. Hammond’s participant is Ryan Wenberg. He is the son of Steve and Jayne Wenberg.
