Advertisement for Bids
Please take notice that the Town of Somerset is seeking bids for chip seal coating of approximately 4.75 miles of roads. Bids will be received by the Town Clerk, Jeri Koester, P.O. Box 248, Somerset, WI 54025 until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2012. No faxes will be accepted.
The sealed bids will be opened at the Town of Somerset Transportation & Facilities Committee meeting on Tuesday, May 1st at 9:00 a.m. at the Somerset Town Hall, 748 Hwy. 35 at which time they will be read aloud. A prevailing wage rate determination is not required for these projects, since they are maintenance with a projected life span of no longer than five years.
The Town Board will consider awarding the bids at the Town Board meeting to be held on Wednesday, May 2nd, 8:00 p.m. at the Town Hall.

When bidding, please break down the cost for each road listed below and then a grand total for all roadways: (Seal coat approximately 4.75 miles with Trap Rock supplied by the Town)
* 210th Ave. west of County Road I approximately 1 mile
* 205th Ave. 1 mile east and 1 mile west of Hwy. 35
* 200th Ave. 1 mile west of Hwy. 35
* 155th Ave. off 63rd St. approximately .5 miles
* 150th Ave. less than .25 miles.

Bids shall be directed to the Town Clerk, securely sealed and endorsed upon the outside envelope “Chip Seal Bids”.
Contractors are encouraged to contact Wally Neumann or David Steel to set up a pre-bid conference, obtain a map or review the project and roads proposed. Specifications and details are available at the Town Shop, 748 Hwy. 35, Somerset. Phone: 715-247-5094
Bidders’ proof of responsibility must be submitted to the Town Clerk prior to the date set for the receiving and opening of the bids.
The Town of Somerset reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein, and to award the contract in the best interests of the Town.
