The annual second grade health fair was held at the Somerset Elementary last Wednesday. Staff, parents and volunteers from local businesses offered several fun-filled stations that kept the students’ interest, while also offering them important advice.
Making healthy snack choices, pumping iron and even performing martial arts were among the many healthy activities students took part in at the health fair.
“The kids just eat it up,” said second year teacher and health fair enthusiast Zach Stephens. The habits kids learn today will undoubtedly make a huge impact down the road.”
Other stations included “Me Moves,” “Exercise,” “Germ Free Me,” “Health Jeopardy,” “Personal Safety,” “First Aid,” “Body Puzzle,” “Dental Health,” and “Fun in the Sun.”
The health fair has been held for more than two decades for second-graders to give them a strong foundation on the many aspects of developing a healthy lifestyle.
