Dart throwers converge on New Richmond
Hundreds of dart throwing enthusiasts are coverging on New Richmond this week to compete in the Twin States Music's 28th annual Regional Dart Tournament.
Hundreds of dart throwing enthusiasts are coverging on New Richmond this week to compete in the Twin States Music's 28th annual Regional Dart Tournament.
The event, featuring upwards of 750 competitors over four days, kicked off with action promptly Thursday morning. Competitors come to the annual regional event from approximately a 100-mile radius, according to Phil Bleile, dart league administrator.
The walls of the banquet room at Ready Randy's in New Richmond were lined with electronic dart machines as competitors competed head to head in various divisions and competition styles. The room was filled with high-energy music to keep the dart throwers pumped up. Food and beverages were served throughout the day.
Thursday's action featured open Cricket Doubles in the morning and afternoon, and Division 1 and 2 Doubles in the evening.
Friday's action will begin with Division 3 and 4 Doubles and Women's Doubles during the day, and Division 1, 2 and 3 along with Chicago Style Singles in the evening.
Saturday kickes off with Division 4, 5 and 6 along with Chicago Style Singles in the daytime. Mixed Doubles competition will be in the evening. A banquet and awards ceremony will be conducted that night.
Sunday will feature team finals and doubles finals.
