Let the construction work begin. Crews were hard at work Monday morning, April 23, as the $7 million project to construct multiple roundabouts along Highway 65 between Roberts and New Richmond got underway.

The project will improve the intersections of Highway 65 with County Road G, County Road TT, 120th/U.S. Highway 12 and 130th/U.S. 12 by constructing modern roundabouts and resurfacing approximately three miles of Highway 65 between 70th Avenue and 130th Street.

Setting up traffic control for the project is underway.

Motorists should be aware that all-way stop control will be in place at all the intersections until the new roundabouts are constructed.

While the all-way stops will enhance safety for turning drivers during the project, motorists can expect traffic congestion, especially during the peak commuting hours.

Local drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes to bypass the work zones. In addition, local road connections to Wisconsin 65 at County TT west, 120th Street, 130th Street and County G west will be temporarily closed during construction.

The project has a completion date of November 2012.
