Antiques Roadshow appraiser to appear

Appraiser Mark Moran, who has made appearances on Antiques Roadshow, will be in the area to do appraisals on Monday, April 30.

Appraiser Mark Moran, who has made appearances on Antiques Roadshow, will be in the area to do appraisals on Monday, April 30.

Moran will be appearing at the Somerset Public Library from 5-8 p.m. on April 30. He will be available to provide estimates and historical information on items you possess. Moran will do estimates on 40 items that evening at a charge of $5 per item. Anyone wishing to get one of those 40 spots should contact the Somerset Public Library at 715-247-5228.

Moran is a former senior editor of antiques and collectibles books for Krause Publications in Iola. He has served as a contributing editor for Antique Trader Magazine and as a guest expert on the PBS show Antiques Roadshow. He is the author or co-author of more than 25 books on antiques and collectibles, including the 800-page annual Warman’s Antiques and Collectibles. Moran has bought and sold antiques for more than 30 years and has been an active appraiser for more than 20 years.

Categories of objects for appraisal may include: fine arts, furniture, ceramics, glassware, vintage photographs, advertising, folk art, assorted toys, metalware, clocks and costume jewelry. Items that will not be accepted at this appraisal session include all weapons, coins and paper money, fine jewelry, pocket and wristwatches and musical instruments.
