The Assembly Elections Committee is holding three public hearings to get opinions about campaign finance reform, and the public financing of campaigns.

The first hearing will be held Thursday in Madison and Green Bay, with the sites to be linked in a teleconference. The other hearings will take place Oct. 14 in Franklin and Oct. 15 in Eau Claire.

Panel chairman Jeff Smith of Eau Claire says the hearings will not focus on any specific proposal.
