Packers’ defensive coordinator Dom Capers says he’ll use the bye week to try and fix problems with pass coverage, especially on third down.

The Minnesota Vikings converted seven straight third downs on Monday night, and 8-14 for the game.

And the Packer defense is 26th among the 32 NFL teams in sacks with five.

After Monday night’s loss, veteran corner Charles Woodson said the defense was not aggressive enough, and Capers wasn’t using all the blitzes in his arsenal.

Capers said he eased off of Favre in order to contain running back Adrian Peterson, who only had 55 yards against the Packers.

Capers also said he was not bothered by Woodson’s comments and he uses sound reasoning for whatever he does.

Woodson also criticized the release of safety Anthony Smith, saying he could have helped avoid some of the breakdowns in the secondary on Monday night.

Coach Mike McCarthy said Woodson’s comments were emotionally-driven, and he’s as competitive as anyone in the NFL.

McCarthy also said he was not bothered by the remarks.
