Get ready for fun, because Roberts Good Neighbor Days are May 31 through June 3 this year.
This year’s theme is “Fiesta de Roberts,” and Roberts Lions Club President Geno Hanson promises that there is something fun for people of all ages.
The celebration starts Thursday, May 31, with a Community Appreciation Dinner in the Village Park at 5:30 p.m. and the presentation of the Good Neighbor Award around 6:45 p.m. (In past years the award was given at the Miss Roberts pageant.) Dairyland Amusement Rides get going around 6 p.m. and “Boston Haas” will perform from 7-10 p.m.
Rides start up again Friday night at 6 p.m. The tractor pull and a slow pitch softball tournament both start at 7 p.m. “Boondoggle” will provide musical entertainment starting at 8:30 p.m.
Saturday is full of events. The day kicks off with a pancake breakfast at Roberts Congregational United Church of Christ from 8-11 a.m. Fun run/walks start around 8:30 a.m. and a car show on Main Street runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. At 11 a.m. the Roberts-Warren Fire Department hosts water ball at the fire hall. The kiddie tractor pull starts at 1 p.m. After a 10-year hiatus, mud volleyball is coming back to Good Neighbor Days. There are already 20 teams signed up for the muddy games that start at 2 p.m. A new event this year is Texas Hold ‘Em under the pavilion, starting at 2 p.m. (There is a $20 entry fee to participate.) A new Miss Roberts will be crowned at the pageant in the St. Croix Central Elementary School gym, which starts at 6 p.m. There will be music and fireworks to end the night on Saturday. “Rock Brigade” performs at 7 p.m., fireworks will go off at dusk and “Arch Allies” begin performing at 9 p.m.
Another new event this year is an ecumenical church service at 9 a.m. Sunday under the tent in the park.
The grand parade kicks off at 1 p.m. Sunday. Nona Sullwood will participate in the parade as this year’s grand marshal. The demolition derby gears up at 3 p.m. and Sunday’s events end with bingo in the park building from 3-6 p.m.

Hanson said people should attend Good Neighbor Days for a good time and to support the community.
“Besides having a lot of great events, all proceeds from the weekend go back to community and educational projects,” he said.
