Randy James Tape, age 51, of Prescott, Wis., died Wednesday, May 23, at Regions Hospital, St. Paul, Minn., as the result of an auto accident in rural Prescott on Sunday.

Randy was born on Nov. 11, 1960, in Neillsville, Wis., the son of Leonard "Jim" and Joy (Moe) Tape. He was a graduate of Rice Lake High School. Randy married Kimberly Gransee on Aug. 1, 1981; they later divorced.

Randy was currently working as a heavy duty diesel mechanic for the Fischer Mining Company in Apple Valley, Minn., and had recently received recognition for 25 years of service with the Local 49ers Union.

Randy was a very hard worker and the kind of guy who would do anything for anyone. He never let grass grow under his feet and always had a million ongoing projects. Randy could fix just about anything and was always willing to help someone else before himself. Randy loved his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, deer hunting, fishing, boating, and spending time with his friends and family.

Randy will be forever missed by his two children, Jenna Tape, Minneapolis, Minn., and Brendan Tape, Hastings, Minn.; four grandchildren: Madisyn, Brooklyn, Kaelyn, and Hunter; parents, Leonard "Jim" and Joy Tape, Rice Lake, Wis.; siblings, David (Pam) Tape, Vicki (Ernie) Peterson, Steven (Denise) Tape, Mark Tape, Wendy (Cory) Schindler, Brian Tape, and Jeff Tape; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Randy will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Joy Lutheran Church, Prescott, Wis. Burial will be in the Pine Glen Cemetery, Prescott. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hill Funeral Home, Prescott, and for 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
