To the Editor:
The good news just keeps coming in for the reforms that Gov. Scott Walker has made.
We now learn that Wisconsin's per capital income rose 4.8 percent last year, the largest increase in five years, according to the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance. They also found that, for the first time since 2007, the state’s employment rose .4 percent with manufacturing accounting for 16.1 percent of the total state employment, the highest share in three years.
At the same time the state's unemployment fell from 8.5 percent in 2010 to 7.5 percent at the end of 2011 and that, according to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, our state gained 23,300 jobs between December 2010 and December 2011. This was based on a survey of 96 percent of Wisconsin employers.
Our state is on the mend and going forward thanks to the positive changes made by this administration. Backwards with Barrett is not an option.
