Six injured in van, pickup crash on Highway 63
Six students from Spooner High School were injured in a Wednesday, May 30, crash on Highway 63 near Spooner.
Six students from Spooner Area Schools were injured in a Wednesday, May 30, crash on Highway 63 near Spooner.
According to a report from the Wisconsin State Patrol, the crash between a school-owned van and a pickup truck occurred at around 11:05 a.m. at Highway 63 and the intersection of Green Valley Road.
Assisting agencies at the scene included the Washburn County Sheriff’s Department, Spooner Police Department and North Memorial Ambulance.
The mini-van was westbound on Green Valley Road at Highway 63. The van entered Highway 63 and was struck by a southbound pickup truck.
The van was being driven by a teacher. There were six high school students on board at the time of the crash. All of them were transported to the Spooner Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Each was examined, treated and released from the hospital. Neither driver was injured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
