The Rotary Club of New Richmond is hosting a meal packing event to benefit non-profit organization "Feed My Starving Children" this Friday and Saturday.

More than 700 volunteers have already signed up for two-hour slots to pack meals that will be shipped to Third World countries to feed the hungry. The goal is to pack 230,000 meals over the two days.

More volunteers are needed, however, to meet the packing goal for the "Send Hunger packing" event. Quite a few volunteer slots are still open for Friday in particular. A few spots are also open on Saturday for those wishing to lend a hand.

Visit http://www.sendhungerpacking.com/ to sign up for a two-hour time slot for yourself, your family or for a group. Voluhnteers will be trained how to pack and seal each meal. All ages are welcome to participate, but adults need to accompany younger children who might want to help.

The Rotary Club, Faith Community Church, local businesses and many other churches have raised more than $50,000 to make the project a reality.
