The Heritage Hillside Series continues next week as the Cattail String Band performs at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, at the New Richmond Heritage Center.
This is the eighth year of the popular music series, offering seven consecutive Wednesdays of great entertainment and fun for the entire family.
The Cattail String Band hails from Amery and is a musical “group” in the truest sense of the word. Formed in 2009, the band’s four members all contribute on lead and back-up vocals, as well as multiple stringed and percussion instruments.
Their music is as diverse as their personalities and covers a broad range of styles including Irish, gospel, bluegrass, folk rock, American country and original tunes. Tight harmonies, high energy and fresh interpretations of great music from a broad range of styles make for a truly fun time.
The “Cattails” members include Andrea Jain on autoharp, fiddle, bodhran, lead and back-up vocals; Barb Goodlet on guitar, fiddle, banjo, bodhran, lead and back-up vocals; Heidi Martin on mandolin, bodhran, percussion, lead and back-up vocals; and Jaime Novak on guitar, bodhran, pennywhistle, percussion, lead and back-up vocals.
The sponsor for the evening is Liquid Waste Technology LLC and entertainment begins at 6:30 p.m., ending at about 8 p.m.
The Farmer’s Market vendors have been invited, Messes and Masterpieces will return an art project for the kids, Zaney Janey has been invited to provide henna and Table 65 plans to bring Gelato and Sorbetto to sell.
Bring a picnic blanket or lawn chairs and a picnic supper. Pop and popcorn are available for sale and one of the historic buildings at the New Richmond Heritage Center will be open for visitors to wander through. It’s a rain or shine event. In case of inclement weather, we will move inside the pavilion, where seating is available but limited.
