Sarah L'Allier gains scholarship

WESTconsin Credit Union has recently awarded eight $1,000 scholarships to area high school seniors as part of the WESTconsin Scholarship Program.

WESTconsin Credit Union has recently awarded eight $1,000 scholarships to area high school seniors as part of the WESTconsin Scholarship Program.

Recipients were selected based on a variety of criteria including community and school involvement, academic progress, financial need, career aspirations and overall goals.

Sarah L’Allier, a New Richmond High School graduate, was chosen scholarship recipient from the WESTconsin New Richmond Office. L’Allier is using the money to help fund her post-secondary education plans at Winona State University, where she will be studying teaching English as a Second Language. Her parents are Elizabeth and Thomas L’Allier.

Over the past 15 years, WESTconsin has distributed in excess of $213,000 to help support the higher education goals of area students. Scholarships are awarded annually to youth members from communities served by WESTconsin offices in Amery, Baldwin, Barron, Hudson, Menomonie, New Richmond, Prescott, River Falls and Spring Valley.
