Westfields Hospital remodels birth center

Construction is set to begin on an upgrade of the Westfields Hospital Birth Center on Aug. 2.

With an even better birth experience in mind, the remodel brings both cosmetic and convenient upgrades for expectant parents and their families. The new Birth Center will offer a home-like atmosphere with the comfort of babies, patients and their families in mind.

Additions of new hardwood flooring, wall treatments, soft lighting and soothing décor are all planned during construction. Updates to the nursery are also planned.

One of the largest updates will be a complete rebuild of the private bathroom in the main labor and delivery room and upgrades in other private bathrooms in the Birth Center.

During construction, labor and delivery will take place in suites located in a secured area of the Medical Surgical department at the hospital.

Completion of the remodel is expected in late September. Watch for more details on a ribbon cutting ceremony and public tours.
