Zachary Zajec, 17

Zachary Douglas Zajec, 17, of New Richmond, Wis., died Aug. 6 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. He was born Feb. 11, 1995.

Zach is survived by his parents, Melissa Zajec (J.R. VanWey) and Douglas (Jessica) Taylor; sisters, Shayla VanWey, Hilliary Alt, Journee, and Angel Taylor; brother, Andrew Taylor; grandparents, Mike and Linda Zajec, Elynda VanWey, Gaylord VanWey Sr., and Carol Taylor.

Zach was preceded in death by his great-grandparents.

Zach loved the outdoors and playing soccer. He was also an active member in the Boy Scouts. He also had a passion for mechanics and was preparing for mechanical courses at WITC in the fall. Zach loved kids and had a joyful spirit. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and the community.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the Cullen Crea Funeral Home, New Richmond. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, with visitation 1 hour prior, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Richmond.
