UPDATE: Danbury man dies after Aug. 11 crash

A motorcyclist from Danbury has died as a result of injuries he sustained in an Aug. 11 motorcycle crash.

A motorcyclist from Danbury has died as a result of injuries he sustained in an Aug. 11 motorcycle crash.

The accident happened at around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11.

The Polk County Sheriff's office was dispatched to the one-vehicle accident on 290th Avenue, west of River Road in Sterling Township. Deputies responding to the scene found that Jason R. Casey, 41, of Danbury failed to negotiate a curve and entered a wooded area on his 2008 Harley Davidson.

Casey was ejected from the motorcycle and was initially assisted by members of the group he was riding with.

Casey was transported from the scene to the Cushing Ball Field where an air ambulance was waiting for transport to Regions Hospital in the Twin Cities.

On Tuesday, Aug. 21, Casey was pronounced dead at Regions Hospital. He is the ninth person to die on Polk County roads in 2012.

The crash remains under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
