A motorcyclist died as the result of injuries from an accident Sunday night, Sept. 2, near Hammond.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, law enforcement officials were dispatched to the scene along County Road E near 103rd Street at about 10:05 p.m. in St. Croix County. The name of the motorcyclist was released later on Monday. His name was David Boyce, 34, or Baldwin.
According to the report, a single motorcycle was westbound on County Road E when it left the roadway crashing into the north embankment.
According to preliminary reports, the motorcyclist may have been fleeing police, however they were not actively pursuing him at that time. The operator was not wearing a helmet. The crash remains under investigation.
Assisting agencies included St. Croix County Sheriff, Roberts Fire, and New Richmond Fire.
Court records indicate Boyce previously lived near Hudson and at Elmwood.
