The 2012 Wisconsin State 4-H Dog Show was hosted by Dane County at the Alliant Energy Center Madison on Aug. 24-26.
Nearly 400 4-H exhibitors representing county 4-H dog programs throughout the state competed in more than 70 different events from drawing, photography and public speaking to a variety of obedience and showmanship events at this year’s competition.
Marta Christensen, daughter of Dane and Cyndee Christensen of Hudson, and Abigail Stark, daughter of Christopher and Michelle Stark of Roberts, represented St. Croix County.
Christiansen and her black lab, Sammy, earned first place in Novice Obedience (seventh grade division).
Stark and her Shetland sheepdog, Fuji, earned first place in Novice Rally Obedience, third place in Novice Obedience and sixth place in showmanship (third-fifth grade division).
