Salon moves for a makeover

Thanks to a move next door, Lori Mathys said her business’ atmosphere is now more relaxing. Mathys owns Perfect Reflections in Somerset, which opened in its new location (705 Rivard St., suite 2) on Sept. 4.

In it’s old location, Mathys said Perfect Reflection’s tanning customers had to walk through the nails area in order to get to the tanning beds. In the new location, manicures and pedicures take place in a room of their own. In addition, there are rooms for facials and massages.

Mathys said the private facials and massage rooms offer a serene environment for spa services and can now accommodate both single and couples massages.

“We actually have three separate rooms for massage, facial and waxing,” Mathys said, “where before we had one room that did it all.”

Now, not only does separating those services into separate rooms create a more relaxed atmosphere, Mathys said it also gives Perfect Reflection the freedom to schedule more than one of each service at once.

“It has more privacy for the clients,” Mathys said. “And more of a spa feel to it.”

Mathys said the new salon has a nail bar featuring three pedicure and three manicure stations.

Another plus for the new location, Mathys said, is the fact that she actually owns this location, rather than renting it. The building is sold condominium-style, Mathys said.

“It seemed like a good time to buy, and expand and make that leap,” Mathys said.

Mathys said many customers have stopped in to look around the new store. Business since the move, she said, has been going well.

“We’re hoping to get a lot of new clients,” Mathys said, “and offer the clients we had a nicer atmosphere.”

Mathys said some of the most popular services Perfect Reflection has to offer are Shellac gel nail polish for manicures and pedicures, color and highlights for hair, and a keratin smoothing treatment for hair.

Mathys said Perfect Reflection is also offering FIT BodyWrap treatments, a treatment where the body is wrapped in heated pads in order to promote weight loss.

“We’re going to be adding online appointment booking soon,” Mathys added.

Perfect Reflections will hold a Grand Re-Opening event Saturday Sept. 29 from 3-6 p.m., featuring drawings, Hors d'oeuvres, and beverages.
