Westfields Hospital birthing center gets upgrade

Westfields Hospital will unveil its newly updated Birth Center with an open house event on Wednesday, Oct. 3.

A ribbon cutting will take place at 4:30 p.m. and the event will continue until 7 p.m. that evening. The event will offer tours, a chance to win a gift basket, and introduce the new Birth Center baby photographer.

With an even better birth experience in mind, the remodeling project brings both cosmetic and convenient upgrades for expectant parents and their families. The new Birth Center is designed to create a welcoming, home-like atmosphere with the comfort of babies, patients and their families in mind.

The Birth Center has been renovated with new hardwood flooring, wall treatments, soft lighting and soothing décor. The nursery has also had some updates to create a peaceful space. One of the largest updates is a complete rebuild of the private bathroom in the main labor and delivery room and significant upgrades in other private bathrooms in the Birth Center.
