Lois Hall
Lois Hall is congratulated by one of many well-wishers. Around 100 people attended the event and were able to stay for the whole event. Others stopped by for shorter amounts of time. Library Board President Dora Rohl said in her introductory speech that the Hazel Mackin Community Library shows what a small group of women can accomplish and Hall was a member of that original group. Rohl said the library has come a long way from the handful of women who sat down and decided the Village of Roberts needed a library.
“Out of that little meeting 38 years ago came the beautiful library which is so busy today,” Rohl said.
Lois Hall was honored by the Roberts Library Board on Sept. 25 at the Hazel Mackin Community Library. Hall was honored for her commitment and years of service to the library since the organization that became the Friends of the Library began in 1974, of which Hall was a founding member.
