The Glam Salon opened in New Richmond on Sept. 10 in the old Cost Cutters space on South Knowles Avenue.
Molly Kretovics, owner of Glam Salon, 155 S. Knowles Ave., has been in the beauty industry since she was 17. She started as a salon receptionist, then, after attending cosmetology school, she came back to New Richmond where she has styled hair for nine years.
Kretovics said she believes in customized consultation to ensure that she understands what clients want. She has attended many education and salon business classes and enjoys helping guests feel beautiful, she said.
“After many years of planning I decided the time was right to open my own salon,” she said. “It all just seemed to fall into place. I had many wonderful people helping to make my dream come true and it was all worth it.”
Kretovics said one of her first moves was to hire Kate Brodie, who has worked as a stylist for seven years. Brodie specializes in custom cuts and color and is a firm believer in on-going education. She’s traveled all over the United States to attend classes and shows in an effort to keep up with ever-changing styles.
Kretovics said it’s important for Glam Salon to stay on top of the latest hair trends.
“We enjoy making our guests feel comfortable, relaxed and beautiful every time they visit the salon,” she said.
In addition to customized cut, color and texture services, Glam Salon also offers facial waxing and styling service.
“At Glam we perform Kenra Color, by Kenra Professional,” Kretovics said. “I have never worked with a color line that provides such great coverage and unbelievable shine.”
Glam Salon is open Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.; Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.; Thursday from 11 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.; Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.; and Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon.
To make an appointment, call 715-246-2664 or visit their website at www.glamnr.com.
A grand opening has been planned for Oct. 26 from 6-8 p.m. Drinks, desserts and raffles will be offered. Attendees will also have the opportunity to have their “glam shot” taken by NP Design & Photography.
