Hammond apartment damaged by fire
An apartment fire in Hammond brought area fire departments to Davis Street at around 1:20 Oct. 5. No one was in the building at the time of the fire.By: Gretta Stark, New Richmond News
Fire departments were called to 1030 Davis St. in Hammond for a fire in an apartment building at around 1:20 p.m. Oct. 5.
No one was in the building at the time of the fire. It took around 10 minutes to put out the fire, according to United Fire-Hammond Station Assistant Station Chief Erich Weinert.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation and estimated damage is unknown.
