Richard Beck Paisley ("PAIS"), 85, passed away Oct. 9 at his home in the loving care and arms of his family.
Survived by Carol, his wife of 30 years; sons, John Paisley (Ruth) and Duncan Paisley (Claire Blanchette); daughter, Christine Paisley (Deb Motto); stepsons, Ed Lovrich and Rob Lovrich (Kim); sister, Kathy Anderson (Floyd); grandchildren, Laura Pastor (Andrew), Michael Paisley, Camille and Simone Blanchett, Paisley and O'Day Lovrich.
He was preceded in death by parents, Manley and Maxine Paisley; stepmother, Virginia Paisley; and brothers, Duncan and Keith Paisley.
Pais graduated St. Paul's Wilson High School, attended Hamline University, and spent his 40+ year career with 3M-National Advertising Company. He served his country in the U.S. Navy at the Bikini Atoll near the end of WWII.
Pais lived a life of quiet service. He was generous to the unknown and forgotten and never sought recognition or notice for sharing his gifts. He had a passion for golf, bridge, and travel, especially to the United Kingdom. He never met a stranger but came to know many who were "a heck of a guy" or a "super gal." He lived his motto "cead mile failte" - a hundred thousand welcomes. He enjoyed each chapter of his life, especially his blended family, who considered him "practically perfect and better than most." He will be missed and remembered fondly by all.
The family is grateful for the excellent care provided by Lakeview Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Lakeview Foundation, 927 Churchill Street West, Stillwater, MN 55082.
No visitation or funeral. Private family memorial.
