Rickey Ensign, 65

Rickey James Ensign, age 65, of New Richmond, died Sunday, Oct. 14, at Westfields Hospital.

He was born the son of Vern and Katherine (Wolfe) Ensign on Dec. 10, 1947, in Star Prairie. Rickey graduated from New Richmond High School. On Dec. 11, 1978, he married Shirley Jean Kincade in Fargo, N.D. He went to work at Andersen's for a few years and then worked at Doboy until retiring in 2007.

Rickey enjoyed working on the pit crew at Cedar Lake Speedway for Chuck and Mike Nutzman. He loved traveling, motorcycle riding, watching movies, and listening to music. Rickey was known as strong-willed, funny, sensitive, and a good friend. His daughter, Jerilynn, was his pride and joy.

Rickey was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Katherine; former wife, Shirley Ensign-Kincade.

He is survived by his daughter, Jerilynn Ensign; many other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Bakken-Young Beebe Chapel in New Richmond. Visitation will also be Wednesday from 3-5 p.m. Interment will be private.
