LETTER: Tammy Baldwin deserves your vote

To the Editor:
At the age of 70, Tommy Thompson’s stated purpose for running for the U.S. Senate is to repeal the National Health Care system called Obama Care.
Tommy Thompson hag government paid or health insurance since 1967. He had coverage as a legislator, governor, Federal Secretary of Health and Human Services and is now covered by Medicare. His fine wife, Sue Ann, is on Medicare and had health care coverage as a teacher.
As Secretary of Health and Human Services, Tommy was instrumental in prohibiting Medicare from negotiating with drug companies for a fairer price. This accounts for the large price difference paid by American for comparable drugs purchased in Canada.
Tommy made millions sitting on multiple corporate boards that largely made their profits in the health care industry. When asked to provide the citizens of Wisconsin with his tax records for the past several years, Tommy’s arrogant response was, “It’s none of your business.” This information would be helpful in understanding his corporate relationships and their potential influences on his voting record as a U.S. Senator.
Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin has fought for Universal Affordable Health Care for all citizens from the first day she entered Congress. We aren’t there yet when it comes to affordable health care, but we are making progress. The Wall Street finance and banker opponents and major corporate CEOs will spend millions to defeat her because she has spoken out for fair taxes, prudent regulations and the needs of the middle class.
Send Tammy Baldwin to Washington and Tommy Thompson back to Elroy to explain to the hard-pressed citizens how his greed exceeds their healthcare needs.
